Dr. Caroline Sierra, PharmD, BCPPS and Dr. Norm Fenn PharmD, BCPPS will conduct a 1-hour knowledge-based continuing education webinar program. This program will highlight some of the unique challenges of precepting students whose native language is not English. This presentation will include tools to address these issues and discuss cultural considerations in working with these students.
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Describe current enrollment of students whose reported native language is not English.
2. Discuss the impact of cultural beliefs on communication between student and preceptor.
3. Assess a student’s ability to effectively communicate their educational needs.
4. Formulate a plan in collaboration with a student to enhance their communication skills.

The Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. In order to receive credit, participants must register for the program, attend the program, and fill out a post-program survey. Webinar programs are 100% supported through program registration fees and PPAG membership dues, and is not supported by Industry.
